International (Richard Donin) Kosovo’s Albanian majority declared independence from Serbia with Western backing on February 17th. Shortly thereafter the United States embassy in Belgrade was attacked and set on fire by Serbian rioters who oppose the move for Kosovo’s independence. Is the former Yugoslavia turning into another Middle East?

National: (Al Young) On February 14th Steven Kazmierczak walked into Cole Hall at Northern Illinois University and started firing shots. When all was said and done he had killed himself and five students, including the daughter of a good friend of mine. Some blame the gun laws. Some blame the lack of mental healthcare. Is there a way to prevent such tragedies?

State: (Mike Riley) Oregon legislators passed a bill to require proof of citizenship in order to receive an Oregon Driver’s license. Some say the act was directly targeted the Hispanic population, to try to control illegal immigration. Will it be successful?

Local: (Matt Wingard) Recently it was revealed that a State employee had diverted almost a million dollars in Federal funds from a Charter School program. The state announced that it is giving that money back to the Feds. Why? Is the education establishment opposed to supporting Charter Schools or is there another explanation?
