And what do you think British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s next move will be?National – (Richard Donin) Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez is busy doing damage control in response to the furor created by the recent dismissal of eight federal prosecutors. Congress is now investigating whether or not the prosecutors were fired for political reasons or performance reasons. Were the federal prosecutors in question removed to make room for more Republican allies, or were the dismissals legitimate? -

Statewide – (Mike Riley) Oregon is considering joining California and other states in moving its primary up to February, in order to become a key player in the presidential primary. Should Oregon move its primary to be part of the pack? Is it worth the nearly $2 million dollar price tag? -

Local – (Al Young) Local governments can currently collect Systems Development Charges to pay for infrastructures and capitol expenses related to new development. These charges are currently are limited to water, sewer, parks and traffic impact fees, and currently cost a home builder anywhere from $15,000 – $25,000 per unit. Local school districts want a piece of that tax pie, and are now asking to add $6,500 more to the cost of building permit for a new home. Is this the best way to fund new schools?
